Self-control dan Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) sebagai Prediktor Nomophobia pada Dewasa Awal

Penggunaan smartphone yang semakin tinggi pada dewasa awal dapat memunculkan kecemasan ketika individu tidak dapat terhubung dengan perangkat digital atau internet yang dikenal sebagai nomophobia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kontribusi self-control dan fear of missing out (FOMO) terhadap nomophobia pada dewasa awal pengguna smartphone di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 153 individu dewasa awal pengguna smartphone di Indonesia yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala self-control, fear of missing out (FOMO), dan nomophobia. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan aplikasi Jamovi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-control dan fear of missing out (FOMO) secara simultan berkontribusi signifikan terhadap nomophobia (F = 34,8; p < 0,001). Secara parsial, FOMO berkontribusi positif dan signifikan terhadap nomophobia, sedangkan self-control tidak signifikan. Nilai R² sebesar 31,7% menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel menjelaskan 31,7% variasi nomophobia. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa upaya pencegahan nomophobia perlu difokuskan pada pengelolaan fear of missing out (FOMO) dan penggunaan media sosial yang lebih adaptif.
